DFA Apostille Guide 2026

Since the Philippines joined the Hague Apostille Convention in May 2019, Philippine documents can be authenticated with an Apostille stamp from the DFA for use in 84+ member countries. The Apostille replaces the old red ribbon authentication for these countries and costs just PHP 100 per document.

DFA Apostille Process

Documents That Can Be Apostilled:
  • PSA birth, marriage, death certificates
  • NBI clearance
  • School transcripts and diplomas (DepEd, CHED, TESDA authenticated)
  • Business documents (SEC, DTI)
  • Court documents
  • Special Power of Attorney (notarized)
How to Apostille:
  1. Ensure document is original or certified true copy from the issuing agency
  2. Visit DFA Office of Consular Affairs — Aseana, Pasay City (fastest) or regional DFA offices
  3. Submit document for verification
  4. Pay PHP 100 per document
  5. Same-day release at DFA Aseana; 3-5 days at other offices
From Abroad:
  • Authorize a representative in the Philippines with SPA
  • Representative brings document to DFA for Apostille
  • Send apostilled document via courier
