Philippines E-Visa 2026 -- Online Visa Application Guide
The Philippines has been developing its electronic visa (e-visa) system to streamline the application process for foreign nationals who require a visa to enter the country.
What is the Philippines E-Visa?
The Philippine e-visa is an electronic travel authorisation that allows eligible foreign nationals to apply for a visa online without visiting a Philippine embassy or consulate in person. The approved e-visa is linked electronically to your passport.
Key Features
- Online application: Apply from anywhere with internet access
- Electronic approval: Visa linked to passport number, no physical sticker needed
- Faster processing: Typically 3-5 business days
- Secure payment: Online fee payment via credit/debit card
Who Can Apply for an E-Visa?
The e-visa system is being rolled out in phases. Currently, it primarily serves:
- Nationals of countries that require a visa to enter the Philippines
- Chinese nationals applying through designated channels
- Business travellers with pre-arranged meetings
- Participants in government-approved events and conventions
How to Apply for a Philippines E-Visa
Step 1 Check Eligibility
Confirm your nationality qualifies for the e-visa programme. Visit the official DFA or Bureau of Immigration website for the latest eligible countries list.
Step 2 Prepare Documents
Scan your passport bio page, prepare a digital passport photo (white background), and have your travel itinerary ready including return flights and hotel bookings.
Step 3 Complete Online Form
Fill in the online application form with personal details, passport information, travel dates, accommodation details, and purpose of visit.
Step 4 Upload Documents
Upload your passport scan, photo, proof of accommodation, return ticket, and any supporting documents (invitation letter, business documents).
Step 5 Pay Fees
Pay the visa fee online. Fees vary by visa type but are typically equivalent to embassy visa fees ($40-60 USD for tourist visa).
Step 6 Receive Approval
Processing takes 3-5 business days. You will receive an email with your e-visa confirmation. Print this and carry it when travelling.
E-Visa Fees
| Visa Type | Fee (USD) | Validity |
|---|---|---|
| Tourist / Visitor (Single Entry) | $40 - $60 | 90 days from issuance |
| Tourist / Visitor (Multiple Entry) | $80 - $120 | 6 months |
| Business (Single Entry) | $60 - $80 | 90 days from issuance |
| Processing Fee (Service Charge) | $10 - $15 | Per application |
Important Notes
- The e-visa does not guarantee entry -- immigration officers make the final decision at the port of entry
- Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your intended stay
- You still need a return or onward ticket
- The e-visa is for short-term visits only -- for long-term stays, apply through an embassy
- Extensions of e-visa stays must be done in person at the Bureau of Immigration
Alternatives to the E-Visa
If the e-visa is not available for your nationality, you have these options:
Embassy Application
Apply in person at your nearest Philippine embassy or consulate. The traditional route with in-person document submission.
